§ 9.03.020. Rabies control.

  • (a)

    It is unlawful for the owner of any dog, ferret or cat to keep or maintain such dog, ferret or cat within the Town unless it has been inoculated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian as frequently as is recommended by the Compendium of Animal Rabies Control as promulgated by the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians.

    (b)

    Every owner of a dog, ferret or cat kept or maintained within the Town shall at all times have proof of a current rabies inoculation for each of their dogs, ferrets or cats, either in the form of a rabies certificate from a licensed veterinarian or a numbered, dated tag as provided by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment or a subdivision or legal representative of such department.
